ULRIK VESTI – Pianist & Composer
Ulrik Vesti has chosen a different path than most of his contemporaries in the world of classical music, by focusing exclusively on improvising and playing his own compositions. This alternative approach to the concert scene, along with his eclectic taste and style of playing, has ensured him a sound that is unmistakably his own.
His music is a mix of virtuosity and ambient soundscapes, always with a deep understanding of structure and melodic sensibility.
AEDEL
The family of noble gasses has been the initial point of inspirational inertia for this project. A seductive imagining of perfectly balanced objects floating unchangeable in a timeless space. AEDEL is the attempt to emblematize this platonic abstraction of chemistry in single musical artefacts hereby creating a tangible perception of an otherwise difficult-to-grasp ethereal idea.

plasticsolen
PLASTICSOLEN (the Plastic Sun) is originally a poem by acclaimed danish window-jumper Michael Strunge. Written in the 1980’s it sets a dystopian scene in which mindless consumerism pollutes and corrupts our physical as well as mental space.
Composed in the traditional form of “Concert de Piano sans Orchestre mais avec Choeur”, PLASTICSOLEN sets out to score the surreal word paintings of Strunges mind. Encapsulated by fully improvised sections in the form Introduzione as well as solo piano Cadenza, the piece delicately moves through scenes in a tightly woven genre mesh.

999MOMENTS
The 999Moments Project is an ongoing improvisation piece in 999 instalments. The project will unfold over several years and most likely evolve further during that time. Exactly how it will turn out is still a bit uncertain.
The framework of the project is inspired by the ancient Japanese legend of Senbazuru, and likewise when these improvisations closes in on 4 digits - something will happen.
